Steel Shot

V Abrasive Cast Steel Shot is a hardened hypereutectoid steel shot. Its structure is tempered, fine-grained, and homogeneous martensite, providing optimal specific impact energy and fatigue resistance. This type of shot is used to achieve maximum mass and rebound effect for surface cleaning, as well as surface hardening (work hardening) when required.

WS – Cast Shot (Hardness 45–51 HRC)

WS is the most versatile in application, producing smoothed peaks (semi-spherical hollows) and surface roughness. When processed with WS cast shot, the surface profile is characterized by smoothed peaks, with minimal depth roughness (Rz) and a defined number of peaks per centimeter (Pc). Due to its high wear resistance, it offers maximum service life (see graph) and is effective for treating parts with hard-to-reach areas thanks to the ricochet effect.

Cast shot is used in shot-blasting equipment for the following processes:

• Cleaning molds from casting sand (steel and iron castings, copper and aluminum alloys);

• Lime and scale removal (after forging, stamping, or heat treatment);

• Surface hardening – strengthening (springs, shafts, rods; for this process, WS cast steel shots with special hardness 52–57 HRC or 57–61 HRC are available);

• Pre-coating cleaning and surface preparation.

In working mixtures, it primarily retains a spherical shape.

GREEN LIGHTNING® OLIVINE

COAL SLAG ALUMINIUM SILICATE

Description:

Coal slag is an aluminium silicate blast cleaning grit made of coal slag from coal fired power stations.

Applications:

Blastcleaning of steel and stone/concrete surfaces, removal of mill scale, rust, old paint, dirt etc. Suitable for SA-3, SA-2112 and SA-2, as well as sweep blasting.

GARNET – ALMANDINE GARNET

Description : Garnet is a naturally occurring mineral, mined and processed exclusively for Euroblast. It is non-toxic and non-hazardous to health and the environment. Garnet is chemically inert and contains no free silica.

Applications : Blastcleaning, hydrojet cutting and water filtration.

GLASS BEADS

Description : Glassbeads are a non-metallic mineral abrasive, made of soda glass.

Applications : Glassbeads are used for shotblast-cleaning, descaling and deburring. They are also suitable for inspection blasting (fraction and fracture detection) and for glarefree, decorative matt satin finishing. Another application is micro peening. When using glassbeads, there is no abrading or scouring action, no deformation of material and no contamination or embedment of particles. Glass beads are suitable for dry compressed air blasting as well as for wet blastcleaning.

Description : Steel shot is produced by melting carefully selected scrap in ultra high power, electric furnaces. A special heat treatment process ensures an optimum microstructure and hardness.
